The Project

Found Wanting is a biblical math rock project by Taig Mac Carthy.

The catalogue comprises three albums releasing through 2026: The Son (electric), The Father (unplugged), and The Holy Spirit (cathedral). Each is a complete reading of the same seven scripture passages in three different sonic languages.

Music is produced using Suno (AI generation), Logic Pro (editing and mixing), Pedalboard (mastering), and ffmpeg (encoding); lyrics are drawn from the King James Bible. Taig selects the passages, arranges the songs, directs the production, and builds the lyric videos.

The name comes from Daniel 5:27: "Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting." Reused here as a confession: the project is one person, a pile of software, and a Bible. It doesn't claim to be more than that. The name says so up front.

Cover Art

The album covers are reproductions of three religious masterpieces stolen from their custodians, AI-enhanced from public scans: Rembrandt's Christ in the Storm in the Sea of Galilee (Boston, 1990), Caravaggio's Nativity with St. Francis and St. Lawrence (Palermo, 1969), and Van Eyck's Adoration of the Mystic Lamb (Ghent, 1942, one panel still missing). Theft put the originals out of public reach; the covers put them back into circulation.
